On December 3, 2025, the Russian State Library hosted the opening of Alexander Dilbazi's exhibition "The Pomegranate Garden". The exhibition runs until December 19 in the Rose Hall of the Russian State Library. The exhibition features 39 paintings from three collections of the artist: "The View", "The Game", "When the pomegranate blossoms". The grand opening took place in the historic Rotunda hall, which for one evening turned into an improvised pomegranate garden, an art space created specifically for this project.
The author of the idea and the artist is Alexander Dilbazi. The curator is Ekaterina Dilbazi. The Executive Director is Gleb Serebryannikov.
A special place in the history of the exhibition is occupied by the date to which it is timed: in 1945 — exactly 80 years ago — in the Library named after him. Lenin published the first book of poems by Mirvari Dilbazi, an Azerbaijani poetess, a national poet of Azerbaijan and the artist's aunt. This spiritual connection between generations has become an important part of the concept of the exhibition.
THE SEMANTIC SPACE OF THE EXHIBITION
"The Pomegranate Garden" is an artist's fantasy, a world where the fates of people associated with the author and those who live only in his imagination meet and intertwine. Philart, a direction created by Alexander Dilbazi, unites painting and philosophy, so the exposition at the Russian State Library of Fine Arts becomes a tribute to the thinkers, poets, and historians whose works are kept within these walls.
It is as if the viewer is invited to see not only paintings, but also to understand the foundation from which art is born — books, thoughts, memory, love. The painting "There is love — love" is consonant with thousands of books around and reminds of the main human feeling.
"The Pomegranate Garden" refers to the image of the Garden of Eden, the primary source from which the history of mankind begins. And the "players" in this garden are a symbol of the human path: life as a game that begins in the sandbox and continues through all stages of growing up. And every time, presenting new works, the artist seems to be telling us: — The game continues!
