Performance exhibition "The Play of looks in the Pomegranate Garden"
Performance exhibition "The Play of looks in the Pomegranate Garden"
The exhibition-performance "The Play of looks in the Pomegranate Garden" is a unique artistic project by Alexander Dilbazi, combining painting, theater and philosophical reflections of the author. The exhibition shows three iconic series by the artist, which were successfully shown earlier in Monaco and Moscow: "The View" (Hermitage Hotel, Monaco, 2013), "The Game" (Hotel De Paris, Monaco, 2014) and "When the Pomegranate blossoms" (The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Moscow, 2015).

The exhibition-performance began its journey around the world in a city that holds a special place in the artist's life, Tbilisi, where its first international presentation took place. This is the childhood city of Alexander Dilbazi, the city of memories associated with his father, Rashid Dilbazi, walking along ancient streets, visiting theaters and museums.

In Tbilisi, the exhibition was presented by the IArt Gallery under the curatorship of Ika Bokuchava, a professional gallery owner, a keen art connoisseur and the mastermind of the project. Within the walls of the IArt Gallery, among the works of contemporary Caucasian artists and masters who have left their mark on history, such as Sergei Paradjanov and Lado Gudiashvili, Alexander Dilbazi's paintings sound especially harmonious, continuing the dialogue of cultures and epochs.
A special place at the exhibition is occupied by the painting from the series "When the pomegranate blooms" — Purple pomegranates. For five years, this painting has been decorating the interior of The Ritz-Carlton Moscow, remaining part of a private collection. Now the audience has a rare opportunity not only to see, but also to become the custodians of a work that has never left the author's collection before.

The opening of the exhibition was accompanied by an interactive theatrical performance in which the artist himself became an actor, involving the audience in the space of his world. A special impression was made by the performance of the famous actor Tengiz Georgadze, an artist of the Georgian State Academic Theater named after Shota Rustaveli, who performed an excerpt from the work of Alexander Dilbazi in Georgian. His participation gave the event a special emotional depth and emphasized the idea of the exhibition as a live performance, where every viewer becomes a participant in creative action.
"The Play of Looks in the Pomegranate Garden" is not just an exhibition, but a journey into the space of feelings, memories and meanings, where painting becomes a theater, and the viewer becomes a collaborator.
